How To Get Rid Of Stains In Your Home

Sooner or later, stains will appear in any household. However, once they appear, there's no reason they should stay there. Read more about some of the most common stains, and how to get rid of them.

Coffee

If your morning routine starts with a hot cup of coffee, be sure you're not too drowsy. Otherwise, you might end up accidentally spilling that precious liquid all over the place. Luckily, there is a quick and easy way to treat coffee stains - dab it with white vinegar and wash it as usual. And for best results, you should pour boiling water over the stain as soon as possible.

Wine

A little wine in your glass will surely have a relaxing effect. But a little wine on your new blouse... not so much. However, there's no need to panic. All you need to do is dab the stain with a cloth or a towel dampened with club soda. It'll absorb any excess wine, then coat the stain with salt (be generous) and let it sit for a few minutes. Pour boiling water over the stain from a height of at least eight inches and wash on the hottest setting the fabric allows.

Berries

Berries are delicious but can make quite a mess. Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries - it doesn't matter what were you’re eating, as long as you treat the stain immediately. If the stain is on a cloth, put some lemon juice or vinegar on it, and let it soak for a few minutes. Rinse it, rub it with detergent, and wash it. But, if the stain is on a carpet, and you can't wash it in a washing machine, try to first soak up as much berry juice as possible. You don't want to push it deeper into the fiber. Once you're done with soaking up, spray some lemon juice, and spray or sponge a mixture of 1 cup of water and 1tbs dish soap. Wait for a few minutes and blot it up with a cotton towel.

Grease/Oil

Although it seems impossible to remove grease or oil stains, there are a few tricks that might help you. The first trick includes baby powder or flour. Rub it in well, brush off the excess, and repeat until the stain is gone. The second trick includes some baking soda and white vinegar. You should first wet the stain with water and cover it with baking soda, and then soak it in white vinegar and scrub with dish soap. Wash as usual.

Makeup

Most women love makeup, but none of them love makeup stains. Here's how to remove some of the most typical makeup stains:

Lipstick - Start with blotting the stain with a paper towel and continue with dabbing the back of the stain with rubbing alcohol while you're applying the paper towel to its front. Massage the stain with some dishwashing detergent and wash as normal.

Eye makeup - Spray the stain with some non-gel shaving cream, rub it gently, and let it dry before you wash it.

Foundation - The best way to remove a stain from a foundation is with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. Pour a few drops onto the stain and massage it with your fingers. Add a little liquid dish soap and continue rubbing it. Rinse it and wash it.

Hope these few tricks will help you get rid of the stains in no time!
